The brief was to create a fluid design with effortless transition, while adhering to symmetrical elevation structures. The property is situated in London’s Mayfair, just off Park Lane. 1.61 London designed symmetrical wall elevations to meet the brief, using only changes of texture and materials to distinguish each area. Different textures were employed to add the required contrast. Natural stone mixed with polished plaster, paint against wallpaper, engineered wood flooring against metal profiles and carpet inserts all feature. These materials were interchanged and re-implemented throughout to ensure continuation while making each space distinct and interesting. Muted colour tones tie these textures together. The finishes gradient through the property elegantly with a blend of taupes backdropped with whites and dark browns for depth, creating a fantastic design finish.
